Difficulties of Cannabis Adjacent Businesses
An online business that’s cannabis adjacent faces a number of difficulties, including legal and financial challenges. For example, cannabis is still illegal under federal law, which makes it difficult for businesses to access traditional banking services, such as loans and credit lines. Additionally, many online platforms, such as social media and e-commerce sites, have strict policies against cannabis-related content, which can make it difficult for businesses to promote and sell their products. Furthermore, cannabis-related businesses also face strict regulations, including strict labelling and packaging requirements, which can be costly and time-consuming to comply with. These challenges make it difficult for cannabis-adjacent businesses to operate and grow online, but with the legalization of cannabis in many states, many online businesses are finding ways to navigate these challenges.
I was able to help Inca Trail Terpenes solve some of their most difficult problems such as payments, branding, and webstore functionality and standards.
Design aesthetics: Clean, modern, visually appealing, brand and target audience aligned.
I immediately set out to create a website design that would align with the brand and target audience. I started by carefully selecting a color palette that would convey a sense of elegance and professionalism while also invoking nature. The color palette consisted of shades of green and red, with accents of white and gray, to create a clean and modern look.
To ensure the website was visually appealing, I updated all of the product pictures to be high-resolution and professionally shot. I also designed the site layout to be easy to navigate and visually pleasing, with a focus on showcasing the products in an attractive way.
my goal was to create a website that was not only modern and visually appealing, but also aligned with the brand and target audience. Through careful consideration of the color palette, product imagery, and site layout, I was able to create a website that met the requirements and exceeded their expectations.
User experience (UX): User-friendly, intuitive, easy-to-navigate website for seamless user experience.
In order to meet the requirements for a user-friendly and intuitive website, I made several changes to the website’s theme and product data structure. First, I synchronized the website’s theme and font to ensure that all elements were cohesive and visually appealing. This not only improves the overall aesthetic of the website, but it also makes it easier for customers to navigate and find the information they need.
Another key aspect of the website’s user experience is the ability for customers to easily contact us. To that end, I made sure that contact information was prominently displayed and easy to find. I also made it simple for staff to collect the relevant information needed to fulfill a sale or complete a request. This includes making it easy to complete forms, as well as providing clear instructions and guidance throughout the various processes.
My efforts to improve the website’s user experience have resulted in a more seamless and intuitive experience for customers. The website is now easy to navigate, visually appealing, and provides all the necessary information and resources for customers and staff. This not only enhances the customer experience, but it also helps to increase conversions and improve overall business results.
Functionality: Fully functional website meeting business requirements such as easy checkout, product search/filtering and contact forms.
The Ecommerce site that I set up for the business is fully functional and meets all of the requirements and needs of the business. One of the key features that I implemented is the easy checkout process using shopify’s systems. Customers can easily navigate through the process and complete their purchase with minimal steps. This not only improves the customer experience but also increases the chances of conversion.
In addition to the checkout process, I also set up a comprehensive product search and filtering system. Customers can easily find the products they are looking for by using various filters such as price, brand, and category. This improves the overall user experience and makes it easy for customers to find what they are looking for.
The industry that the business operates in is cannabis adjacent, which can present unique challenges when setting up an ecommerce site. However, I was able to navigate these difficulties and set up multiple payment methods, including direct debit/credit payments and various crypto currencies. This allowed customers to choose the payment method that works best for them and while also increasing the chances of a conversion.
I organized the back office to receive and process orders efficiently. This ensures that orders are processed and shipped out in a timely manner, which improves the overall customer experience.
Responsiveness: Website that adapts to different screen sizes and devices (desktop, tablet, mobile)
I completed setup and testing of the full eCommerce store on various devices including desktop, tablet, and mobile. During this process, I ensured that the website is fully responsive and adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes and devices. This means that the layout and navigation of the website automatically adjusts to provide the best user experience regardless of the device being used.
Additionally, I was able to gather data on the devices our customers are using to access the website. This information was then used to optimize the website for the most common devices, ensuring that the majority of our customers are able to easily navigate and make purchases on the website.
I also conducted testing to see how customers were likely to order on different devices. For example, I found that many customers tend to place orders on desktop computers while at work, but also place orders on tablets while at home. This data was used to further optimize the website for these specific scenarios, making it even more user-friendly and efficient for our customers.
The website is now fully responsive and adapts well to different screen sizes and devices, meeting the requirements for a positive user experience. This was communicated and demonstrated to the company management and the introduction of these fixes and features were visible in orders and income.
Performance: Website with good page load times, optimized for search engines (SEO) for visibility and rankings.
I successfully completed work on the company’s website to improve performance and page load times. Utilizing tools such as Lighthouse, I was able to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions to increase the overall speed and responsiveness of the site. Additionally, I implemented various SEO strategies, including social media marketing and optimization of on-page elements, in order to improve the visibility and rankings of the site in search engines. Through my efforts, I was able to achieve significant improvements in key metrics such as page load speed, search engine rankings, and overall website performance. Overall, the company’s website is now well positioned to attract more traffic and increase conversions.
